“I Do” to the Erin Condren Wedding Planner

Now that I have the bling, I had to get the planner. Before we move on, in case you haven’t read “I Got Distracted…

IMG_7744.JPG.jpeg

Anyway, shocking, I didn’t just get any old planner, I got myself an Erin Condren Wedding Planner! Ok, so I may have gotten it MONTHS ago with the HOPE that I’d be marrying this man. I kept it hidden away and forgotten in its little box, waiting patiently to be used. Obviously I’m super excited to now have the chance to use it! My teacher planner and Life Planner have been AMAZING, and I’ve gotten wedding planners for other friends; so finally getting to use it for myself is double fun! For ease of life, I am just using my wedding planner as my life planner for the next year as well- why not!? I use the month view more than anything and I have plenty of stickers left from my life planner this past year! It works!

IMG_7745.JPG.jpegIMG_7746.JPG.jpeg

Front and Back

The front portion of the planner has month views for which ever month span you chose. After each month view is a notes page, similar to the teacher planner. I write my work schedule, birthdays, meetings, and obviously, when to get wedding things like sending save-the-dates out!

IMG_7754.JPG.jpegIMG_7755.JPG.jpeg

The second portion of the planner is like a wedding planning guide. There is space for a guest list, bridal party, reception stuff, wedding tips, a time line, a budget checklist, music, photography, flowers, cake and food tastings, and vendor contact list. We have excel spread sheets for our guest list and budget, but I also hand-wrote our budget in so that when we are having conversations with vendors I have that info with me!

IMG_7756.JPG.jpegIMG_7757.JPG.jpegIMG_7758.JPG.jpegIMG_7759.JPG.jpegIMG_7763.JPG.jpegIMG_7766.JPG.jpegIMG_7760.JPG.jpegIMG_7761.JPG.jpegIMG_7762.JPG.jpegIMG_7767.JPG.jpegIMG_7765.JPG.jpegIMG_7764.JPG.jpeg

PS our photographer is the always lovely Kate Serbin of Freckled Perspective. She’s amazing!

ENTIRE last section of the planner has blank pages and lined pages for doodles, writing notes, ideas, and lists.

IMG_7748.JPG.jpegIMG_7747.JPG.jpeg

There is also the usual clear pocket pouch in the back that is GREAT for keeping business cards! It comes stuffed with EC Compliment Cards, coil clip, do-it-all dots, and referral cards to hand out to friends who love your EC.

IMG_7753.JPG.jpeg

The stickers in the back are specific to the wedding planner. They say things like: register, caterer, photographer, bridesmaids, mani-pedi, hair appt, book honeymoon, shower, bachelorette, bachelor, favors, programs, big day, get license, limo/shuttle, save the dates, book hotels, website, officiant, music, bride gifts, groom gifts, buy invites, bakery, buy rings, party!, dress shop, fitting, and blanks. There is a sheet of varying shades of purple and a sheet of varying shades of blue. The last 2 sticker sheets are completely blank in the basic rainbow of colors. I had left over stickers from my 2015 Life Planner that I cut out and slid into the back pocket of my wedding planner.

IMG_7749.JPG.jpeg

I have already started taking notes, and getting stuff from my pinterest and writing them down in my planner. We are definitely in full wedding planning swing! How is it that even though the wedding is almost a year away, it feels like everything gets done in the first 6 months! :O

This is the perfect gift to give to any newly engaged Bride or get for your own wedding organization! Use this referral link to receive a $10 coupon to get your own Erin Condren Wedding Planner, Life Planner, or one of her other AWESOME products!

Look At Me! I’m Organized!

STUDENT TEACHING HAS STARTED! Last week I got into my classroom for the semester. I have my own little desk, book-case and corner that’s ALL MINE! I can’t even begin to tell you all how excited I am and what it has taken to get here. Everything the last 4 years has led to this! I am in a wonderful school district, with a co-op that I LOVE.

Yesterday was my first day, and I finished moving in. Here is what my little corner looks like thus far.

IMG_7191

The front of my desk is rocking bead buddies and stained glass projects my summer school kids did this summer. If you can’t tell, the stained glasses are Beauty and the Beast themed.

IMG_7190

Recognize that pot? See how I made it HERE! Miss Swenda is written and facing front towards the students. “Called Equipped Prepared” is a reminder just for me! Cinderella’s glass slipper and the Disney princess cup are from a bridal shower I was at a few weeks ago.

IMG_7187IMG_7186

I am really proud of these drawers. Yes, I have an entire drawer of snacks. I have a schedule that gives me the ability to snack every few periods. I regret nothing. My other drawer holds my tea, binder clip collection, stationary, and other rando things.

IMG_7192

IMG_7188

I have a nice little bookshelf to keep all of my stuff. Obviously, it’s full of classics and the majority of the Folger Shakespeare Library collection. My brother hooked me up with Dancing Groot and Albus Dumbledore and I certainly couldn’t leave them at home! Bob my Philadelphia Flyers Gnome has a place of love as well. One of the best things I learned from my previous co-op was unit binders. You can see the stack of them to the right of the above picture. For each unit, I have created a binder. Over the years I have and will continue to collect handouts, projects and general things to go with the different units. IMG_7189

The cool part of having a mom that has been working in schools for so long, is that she has some pretty fun decorations and ideas. Ma hooked me up with these cute little fall leaves. Together, we came up with “What Miss Swenda is reading…” The top leaf has the name of the book. The bottom leaf lists the author, genre, number of pages and style. I am currently reading Dracula by Bram Stoker. It falls into sci-fi/fiction/historical, has 414 pages and is written like diary/journal entries, letters and newspaper clippings. For different holidays/months I will have different shapes to show my what I’m reading. As an English teacher, I feel it’s important to show the kids not only that I am reading, but also give them a glimpse of who I am through my reading.

We have some awesome projects planned for the kids this year- I can’t wait to share some of them right here! 🙂

Planner Bag and Sticker Storage with Taylor

This video was done by my planner friend Taylor! It combines two of my favorite things- Erin Condren planners AND Vera Bradley. I actually worked at Vera Bradley for a little over a year and have so much it’s crazy!

The Vera Travel Organizer is one of my favorite pieces. It usually sits on a shelf with the rest of my Vera, under-used because it’s a travel item. When I do travel and want to bring my planner stuff, it is a full Vera Tote of stuff all on its own. I like that each section has its own purpose and really keeps it organized instead of it all getting thrown together. I currently have a cute Target One Spot felt envelope that I keep my planner in. I see changing that in the near future! My planner fits perfectly and I have room on the sides to stash pencils/pens.

Screen Shot 2015-04-072 at 10.25.32 PM copy

I couldn’t have come up with better a better sticker storage idea if I tried! I currently have 3 Target One Spot accordion folders for my sticker collection.

Screen Shot 2015-04-07 at 10.24.44 PM Screen Shot 2015-04-07 at 10.25.32 PM

One small one holds my Erin Condren personalized stickers that come with planners/notebooks (top). My first medium-sized one holds stickers topically- animals, food, birthday, quotes, school etc. My second medium folder has stickers organized by month/holiday, February/Valentines Day, July/Fourth of July….you get the picture. It can be kind of a pain when I’m trying to plan. In my infinite wisdom I got matching folders to be cute…and I always grab the wrong one! By putting them in a binder like Taylor, that eliminates a lot of the problem because there is simply more room. I can put them all in one spot and have them labeled with tabs! Staples and Michaels constantly have binders like that for sale. One more project to add to the organizing list!

This Very Crafty Mama Stickers

By a twist of fate I follow Jessica, owner of Etsy shop ThisVeryCraftyMama on Instagram. I saw that she was running an AWESOME giveaway and decided “Why not? It’s worth a shot!” AND I WON! HOLY COW! 😀 This afternoon I practically RAN to the mailbox in hopes of having a package in the mail- and there it was, in all of its hot pink glory!

IMG_5167When I opened my pretty envelope, one of the nicest happy mails I have ever received slid out! There is something to be said for a person who takes such ginger, love and pride in her work!

IMG_5169

IMG_5170And on to the best part- THE STICKERS!

IMG_5171I know there are some girls out there that are OBSESSED with mermaids. I’ll give it to ya, I love The Little Mermaid. I do grow my hair out for years at a time in order to donate and sometimes kinda feel mermaid-ish. Not only are these mermaids so cute, but so are their sea friends! I can’t wait to use them this summer and plan beach and aquarium trips JUST so I can use them!

IMG_5172I am an Army brat, and come from a long line of service men. We celebrate all of the holidays associated with them. I also have a friend who is dating a man in the service now. I will be sharing these Army stickers.

IMG_5173These baking stickers are spot on for planning. They are the perfect size and don’t take up too much space in the squares. The colors are fun, but soft. They are a perfect addition to my collection.

IMG_5174Everybody loves a good page flag.Pictured are both the solid and patterned ones! The stickers are matte, and colorful without being too bright or so patterned that you can’t write on them. She knocked it out of the park on these guys.

IMG_5175Ok, so when I first saw these I laughed way too hard for way too long. These “Monthly Cycle Tracker” stickers couldn’t be better. Not much makes any aspect of this more tolerable, other than chocolate, but these might help a bit.

IMG_5176I know Valentines Day has passed, but hearts are really all year round. How could I pass up those heart-sleeved coffee cups, or those owls, or instagram stickers!? Nothing is wrong with back stock either…

IMG_5177A roll of washi tape, some more stickers, star sticky notes, mini clothes pins, and small envelopes rounded out my killer giveaway package!

Follow Jessica on instagram at ThisVeryCraftyMama for new shop additions and a baby picture now and again! Visit her Etsy shop for ALL of her stickers! She carries stickers for Erin Condren, Plum Paper, FiloFax and Kikki K so regardless of what planner you love, she can help you out!

Station Stickers Planner Decor

Now that I am not working at a location with a Starbucks right next door, I do believe I have replaced my Starbucks spending with planner goodies spending. These stickers and washi are from Christy Dee, owner of Etsy shop, Station Stickers. She is also on Instagram @stationstickers, where she posts shop news, new additions and even what she buys from other shops!

FullSizeRender-5

These tea-cup stickers are adorable! I am going to use some of them to denote special wedding planning time with my best friend Faith. Others I am going to use to schedule in tea time with friends at school. I might be a college student, and yes I love coffee, but just about anything can be helped with a good cuppa.

IMG_4825

TV stickers are so fun. I love the colors. I have so many shows to keep track of, or minimally, I need to schedule time to catch up on my shows on DVR and OnDemand! I have a tendency to turn a show on and do my school work with it going in the back ground. Yeah, I’m one of those people. I can’t wait to use these guys!

IMG_4826

I am slowly but surly building my washi collection. Though my full rolls are great, I don’t necessarily need full rolls. This set of washi is fun, fresh, and classic. Who doesn’t like some good old classic gingham!? I will probably use most of these later in the spring to the early summer, but I couldn’t wait to get them. There are two sheets of each pattern, 7 pre-cut pieces on each, giving me a total of 70 pre-cut washis!

IMG_4824

The pill stickers are for my mother and me. I take fish oil, iron, and cranberry pills in the mornings. My mother suffers from migraines and takes preventative medication as well as medicine when she actually has one. She is going to use hers to denote when she actually has a migraine and takes her super meds!

IMG_4827

Being the AWESOME lady that she is, Christy also threw in two little goodies for me! The coffee cups are my favorite color and so stinking cute! I can’t wait to use them. I am in LOVE with the heart check-list and will need to get MORE!

IMG_4828

On top of this wonderful package, Christy has come up with a discount code for all of my readers/followers to use at her shop! WOO HOO! Use the code BWB15off for 15% off of your purchase at her store on Etsy. She has a TON of new stickers!!! The link is in the beginning. Make sure to follow Christy on Instagram @stationstickers for more of her stickers and planner goodies! Planning Made Easy Stickers

Now that I have both my life planner and my teacher planner, I am seriously getting into the world of planning. It doesn’t help that my mother’s planner is on the way and my friends are aiding my hobby. I am super excited to have my goodies from Ashley Odenweller, owner of Etsy shop, Planning Made Easy! I am never bored following her Instagram account @planning_made_easy. She posts new additions to the shop, discount codes and general awesome planner things!

IMG_4779  IMG_4780

I am an English Ed major, taking all online classes including a World Literature class. These book stickers are going to be PERFECT to help motivate me to do my reading! They will also be used to help keep track of when I do book reviews right here on the blog!

IMG_4782

I am in LOVE with these Bible verse stickers! As a student at a Christian university, dating a licensed pastor, being able to post a verse for myself every week is so cool! I love the backgrounds, the verses are applicable and just awesome! She also has inspirational quotes, success quotes and fitness quotes available!

FullSizeRender-4

MIXER STICKERS! I have a total love affair with our Kitchen Aid mixer. It has faithfully helped me make chocolate chip cookies, brownie, whipped cream, shredded chicken and so much more! Like the books, I will use these guys to help me denote when I post a recipe on my blog, or to show when I need to bake something…which happens at least once a week!

IMG_4783

My one planner buddy collects elephants! As soon as I saw these elephant stickers, I knew that I HAD to get them for her! They are the perfect size and have just the right burst of color to add a bit of pizzaz to her week!

IMG_4784

HAPPY MAIL Stickers! Envelopes and mailboxes, these guys will be great to use as a reminder to send my stuff out to my planner buddies as well as when I have shipments expected to come in…ya know….cuz I keep buy people planners!

IMG_4787

These little heart guys are super cute! I will be using them for anniversaries! With so many colors, it will be easy to match the tag to the month!

FullSizeRender-3

Hop Hop Hop! This Easter washi sticker set is going to be so fun to use and to share! The pastel colors match the April colors in the ECLP perfectly!

IMG_4786

Camera stickers, planner flags, and cheveron stickers are perfect little additions to my collection!

IMG_4789

It took about 2 weeks from the time I ordered to the time I received my package- this included New Years. It helps that she’s in New York and I am just down in Pennsylvania, it makes mailing time a wee bit faster I think.

Make sure to follow Ashley on Instagram @planning_made_easy  or her FB page for more of her stickers and planner ideas. Follow me @brunetteswithbrains for more shop reviews, upcoming discount codes, book reviews, recipes, gardening and how I use my stickers in my own planner!

EC Life Planner Surprise!

A friend of mine at school mentioned that she liked my planner. I have a teacher planner and she is not going to be a teacher, so it would have been a bit much. I love converting people into Erin Condren fans….so I got her a life planner for her birthday next month! With the coupon that came along with the planner….I GOT MYSELF A LIFE PLANNER TOO! YAY!

IMG_4552 IMG_4554

I absolutely LOVE Erin Condren boxes. They look as happy as the fun stuff on the inside! Because this is a gift, I covered up the name! This particular planner is “Scales” and I LOVE it!

FullSizeRender-3

Each month there is a full view with a quote, holidays already marked and a notes section down the side.

FullSizeRender-4

Every week has a full two-page spread! Every day has a “Morning” “Day” and “Night” section. This is going to be PERFECT for her to keep track of classes, practices and homework assignments! There is a section for Goals/Notes on the left hand side, and lines on the bottom to mark workouts, food, to-dos, etc.

FullSizeRender-1  FullSizeRender-5

After the calendars and weeks are done there are lined pages and blank pages for notes, lists, to-dos-what ever you want to use them for!

FullSizeRender  FullSizeRender-2

As with all EC planners, there are stickers in the back! There is one whole page of birthday stickers. Being that we are still in school PLUS family, we do have a lot of birthdays to keep track of! The second page stickers say “game!” “day off!” “hair appt @____” “dentist appt@____” “sale!” “doc appt @____” “concert!” “mani/pedi” “party!” and “vacation!” There are also two whole sheets of blank stickers to personalize as needed.

IMG_4561

The two-sided Keep It Together pockets also came with a “forget me not” calendar and contacts booklet! SWEET!

IMG_4562

The back clear zip pouch, as with all EC planners, came with personalized stickers. The bottom 3 are general and the top 3 match the planner and have her name printed on the bottom. Since this is a gift I hid her name. I LOVE these stickers and have a whole pile of my own. They really are great for gift giving and they are just so fun.

I can’t wait to give this functional, cute little gift! If you have a friend that would like some help organizing their life, this is the perfect gift. It’s not too bad as a gift to yourself either…ya know…Christmas gift to yourself, help you keep track of those New Year’s resolutions you keep saying you want to do….

EC Teacher Planner Update

I LOVE MY ERIN CONDREN TEACHER PLANNER! Yes, I am obsessed. I love Erin Condren SO much I have now bought my best friend a Wedding Planner, there is a Life Planner in the mail on its way for another friend for Christmas and I bought my co-op teacher the Owl Lesson Planner Notepads!

Though I have the teacher planner, I am currently not in a classroom to need to use the lesson planning section on my students so I have been using it myself. Here are some pictures that show how I’ve turned my teacher planner into a student planner for the time being.

FullSizeRender-7   FullSizeRender-5

I write in the lesson plan section left to right morning to evening. I use the last two columns to write out assignments that I need to do that day/evening. Work and classes fill up most of the other boxes.

I use the month view to keep track of my work schedule and write out when assignments are due. I also have breaks and visits listed.

FullSizeRender-6  FullSizeRender-8

I LOVE the stickers that come with the planner and use them constantly. I have been cutting them in half to make them go farther and so they do not take up quite so much room in my little boxes and it has been working nicely. I have my classes, jobs and activities color coordinated as best as possible. It is not as pretty as some other planners I have seen, but I am working on it! My washi collection is slowly but surly growing!

IMG_4501

Ethan LOVES superheros so I was super excited when I found the onomatopoeia comic book tape I HAD to have it! Any visits to or from him are now denoted with the onomatopoeia tape! I can’t wait to grow my washi and sticker collection over the coming months to try and brighten and spruce up my planner!

Because I Need One More Notebook

Because I needed one more EC notebook….I got my second On-The-Go Notebook. This one, does not match my teacher planner or my first OTGNB. This one is personal.

My last notebook and goodies came wrapped up in pink. This time, I got a beautiful minty green! IMG_4164

And SURPRISE! A $10 off coupon! Seriously, I love EC and her little surprises SO MUCH!

IMG_4166

I purchased this notebook while EC was still sending a free On-The-Go 18 month calendar, so I got another one of them! I ordered a set of just the platinum head/book bands. I only wear them in my hair. They are AWESOME! I get compliments on them all of the time. As you can see, I got the British flag with this cover. Let’s all be surprised, the girl who is an English Lit concentration and LOVES English history got that particular cover. HAHA. To see what the notebook and calendar look like inside, check out my previous post The Notebook Has Arrived!

As with just about everything you order from EC, I got another set of stickers. 3 of them are repeats, but 3 of them specifically match my notebook!! I LOVE THEM! I have a whole collection of personalized stickers and I can’t wait to use them all of the time!

EC $10 Coupon

The Notebook Has Arrived

I LOVE Erin Condren packaging. It is so adorable. And so super exciting to receive when it comes!!! 😀

IMG_3989

IMG_3990

IMG_3991

Yes, I got ANOTHER pack of markers. They are the best and I plan on passing them out to my fellow teachers once school starts next week. THAT’S how much I like them.

IMG_4004 IMG_4006

The notebooks come with a little ruler. Yes, my notebook and teacher planner match. The planner is the larger of the two. It also comes with a clear, plastic, zipper pouch, blank stickers and folder just like the planners which is really nice I think. It also comes with more of the personalized gift stickers. I now have a set of “Miss. Swenda” and “Anna Swenda” stickers.

IMG_3992

The notebook itself is pretty swell. The majority is lined pages with blank pages for free doodling/writing in the back.IMG_3995

IMG_3996

I was also able to get my notebook in time to receive the free 18 month calendar. This, I passed on to my mom. It is sleek enough for her to throw it in any of her purses. She is passed the point of motherhood where she needs the FULL life planner. She’s quite thankful for this. I also let her steal a few of my extra stickers to decorate the outside.

IMG_3998 IMG_3999

Just like regular planners, there is a pretty display for the month and a page for notes. Unlike the regular planners, in the bottom right corner, there is a full month display with the dates. When you turn the page, there is a full, two-page, month spread with a column for notes. The top has a cute little saying, as with all of her other planners.

IMG_4001 IMG_4002 IMG_4003

My second notebook and pack of headbands will be coming shortly! I think it’s safe to say I have a problem. 🙂
