“I Do” to the Erin Condren Wedding Planner

Now that I have the bling, I had to get the planner. Before we move on, in case you haven’t read “I Got Distracted…

IMG_7744.JPG.jpeg

Anyway, shocking, I didn’t just get any old planner, I got myself an Erin Condren Wedding Planner! Ok, so I may have gotten it MONTHS ago with the HOPE that I’d be marrying this man. I kept it hidden away and forgotten in its little box, waiting patiently to be used. Obviously I’m super excited to now have the chance to use it! My teacher planner and Life Planner have been AMAZING, and I’ve gotten wedding planners for other friends; so finally getting to use it for myself is double fun! For ease of life, I am just using my wedding planner as my life planner for the next year as well- why not!? I use the month view more than anything and I have plenty of stickers left from my life planner this past year! It works!

IMG_7745.JPG.jpegIMG_7746.JPG.jpeg

Front and Back

The front portion of the planner has month views for which ever month span you chose. After each month view is a notes page, similar to the teacher planner. I write my work schedule, birthdays, meetings, and obviously, when to get wedding things like sending save-the-dates out!

IMG_7754.JPG.jpegIMG_7755.JPG.jpeg

The second portion of the planner is like a wedding planning guide. There is space for a guest list, bridal party, reception stuff, wedding tips, a time line, a budget checklist, music, photography, flowers, cake and food tastings, and vendor contact list. We have excel spread sheets for our guest list and budget, but I also hand-wrote our budget in so that when we are having conversations with vendors I have that info with me!

IMG_7756.JPG.jpegIMG_7757.JPG.jpegIMG_7758.JPG.jpegIMG_7759.JPG.jpegIMG_7763.JPG.jpegIMG_7766.JPG.jpegIMG_7760.JPG.jpegIMG_7761.JPG.jpegIMG_7762.JPG.jpegIMG_7767.JPG.jpegIMG_7765.JPG.jpegIMG_7764.JPG.jpeg

PS our photographer is the always lovely Kate Serbin of Freckled Perspective. She’s amazing!

ENTIRE last section of the planner has blank pages and lined pages for doodles, writing notes, ideas, and lists.

IMG_7748.JPG.jpegIMG_7747.JPG.jpeg

There is also the usual clear pocket pouch in the back that is GREAT for keeping business cards! It comes stuffed with EC Compliment Cards, coil clip, do-it-all dots, and referral cards to hand out to friends who love your EC.

IMG_7753.JPG.jpeg

The stickers in the back are specific to the wedding planner. They say things like: register, caterer, photographer, bridesmaids, mani-pedi, hair appt, book honeymoon, shower, bachelorette, bachelor, favors, programs, big day, get license, limo/shuttle, save the dates, book hotels, website, officiant, music, bride gifts, groom gifts, buy invites, bakery, buy rings, party!, dress shop, fitting, and blanks. There is a sheet of varying shades of purple and a sheet of varying shades of blue. The last 2 sticker sheets are completely blank in the basic rainbow of colors. I had left over stickers from my 2015 Life Planner that I cut out and slid into the back pocket of my wedding planner.

IMG_7749.JPG.jpeg

I have already started taking notes, and getting stuff from my pinterest and writing them down in my planner. We are definitely in full wedding planning swing! How is it that even though the wedding is almost a year away, it feels like everything gets done in the first 6 months! :O

This is the perfect gift to give to any newly engaged Bride or get for your own wedding organization! Use this referral link to receive a $10 coupon to get your own Erin Condren Wedding Planner, Life Planner, or one of her other AWESOME products!

Planner Bag and Sticker Storage with Taylor

This video was done by my planner friend Taylor! It combines two of my favorite things- Erin Condren planners AND Vera Bradley. I actually worked at Vera Bradley for a little over a year and have so much it’s crazy!

The Vera Travel Organizer is one of my favorite pieces. It usually sits on a shelf with the rest of my Vera, under-used because it’s a travel item. When I do travel and want to bring my planner stuff, it is a full Vera Tote of stuff all on its own. I like that each section has its own purpose and really keeps it organized instead of it all getting thrown together. I currently have a cute Target One Spot felt envelope that I keep my planner in. I see changing that in the near future! My planner fits perfectly and I have room on the sides to stash pencils/pens.

Screen Shot 2015-04-072 at 10.25.32 PM copy

I couldn’t have come up with better a better sticker storage idea if I tried! I currently have 3 Target One Spot accordion folders for my sticker collection.

Screen Shot 2015-04-07 at 10.24.44 PM Screen Shot 2015-04-07 at 10.25.32 PM

One small one holds my Erin Condren personalized stickers that come with planners/notebooks (top). My first medium-sized one holds stickers topically- animals, food, birthday, quotes, school etc. My second medium folder has stickers organized by month/holiday, February/Valentines Day, July/Fourth of July….you get the picture. It can be kind of a pain when I’m trying to plan. In my infinite wisdom I got matching folders to be cute…and I always grab the wrong one! By putting them in a binder like Taylor, that eliminates a lot of the problem because there is simply more room. I can put them all in one spot and have them labeled with tabs! Staples and Michaels constantly have binders like that for sale. One more project to add to the organizing list!

EC Life Planner Surprise!

A friend of mine at school mentioned that she liked my planner. I have a teacher planner and she is not going to be a teacher, so it would have been a bit much. I love converting people into Erin Condren fans….so I got her a life planner for her birthday next month! With the coupon that came along with the planner….I GOT MYSELF A LIFE PLANNER TOO! YAY!

IMG_4552 IMG_4554

I absolutely LOVE Erin Condren boxes. They look as happy as the fun stuff on the inside! Because this is a gift, I covered up the name! This particular planner is “Scales” and I LOVE it!

FullSizeRender-3

Each month there is a full view with a quote, holidays already marked and a notes section down the side.

FullSizeRender-4

Every week has a full two-page spread! Every day has a “Morning” “Day” and “Night” section. This is going to be PERFECT for her to keep track of classes, practices and homework assignments! There is a section for Goals/Notes on the left hand side, and lines on the bottom to mark workouts, food, to-dos, etc.

FullSizeRender-1  FullSizeRender-5

After the calendars and weeks are done there are lined pages and blank pages for notes, lists, to-dos-what ever you want to use them for!

FullSizeRender  FullSizeRender-2

As with all EC planners, there are stickers in the back! There is one whole page of birthday stickers. Being that we are still in school PLUS family, we do have a lot of birthdays to keep track of! The second page stickers say “game!” “day off!” “hair appt @____” “dentist appt@____” “sale!” “doc appt @____” “concert!” “mani/pedi” “party!” and “vacation!” There are also two whole sheets of blank stickers to personalize as needed.

IMG_4561

The two-sided Keep It Together pockets also came with a “forget me not” calendar and contacts booklet! SWEET!

IMG_4562

The back clear zip pouch, as with all EC planners, came with personalized stickers. The bottom 3 are general and the top 3 match the planner and have her name printed on the bottom. Since this is a gift I hid her name. I LOVE these stickers and have a whole pile of my own. They really are great for gift giving and they are just so fun.

I can’t wait to give this functional, cute little gift! If you have a friend that would like some help organizing their life, this is the perfect gift. It’s not too bad as a gift to yourself either…ya know…Christmas gift to yourself, help you keep track of those New Year’s resolutions you keep saying you want to do….

EC Teacher Planner Update

I LOVE MY ERIN CONDREN TEACHER PLANNER! Yes, I am obsessed. I love Erin Condren SO much I have now bought my best friend a Wedding Planner, there is a Life Planner in the mail on its way for another friend for Christmas and I bought my co-op teacher the Owl Lesson Planner Notepads!

Though I have the teacher planner, I am currently not in a classroom to need to use the lesson planning section on my students so I have been using it myself. Here are some pictures that show how I’ve turned my teacher planner into a student planner for the time being.

FullSizeRender-7   FullSizeRender-5

I write in the lesson plan section left to right morning to evening. I use the last two columns to write out assignments that I need to do that day/evening. Work and classes fill up most of the other boxes.

I use the month view to keep track of my work schedule and write out when assignments are due. I also have breaks and visits listed.

FullSizeRender-6  FullSizeRender-8

I LOVE the stickers that come with the planner and use them constantly. I have been cutting them in half to make them go farther and so they do not take up quite so much room in my little boxes and it has been working nicely. I have my classes, jobs and activities color coordinated as best as possible. It is not as pretty as some other planners I have seen, but I am working on it! My washi collection is slowly but surly growing!

IMG_4501

Ethan LOVES superheros so I was super excited when I found the onomatopoeia comic book tape I HAD to have it! Any visits to or from him are now denoted with the onomatopoeia tape! I can’t wait to grow my washi and sticker collection over the coming months to try and brighten and spruce up my planner!

Because I Need One More Notebook

Because I needed one more EC notebook….I got my second On-The-Go Notebook. This one, does not match my teacher planner or my first OTGNB. This one is personal.

My last notebook and goodies came wrapped up in pink. This time, I got a beautiful minty green! IMG_4164

And SURPRISE! A $10 off coupon! Seriously, I love EC and her little surprises SO MUCH!

IMG_4166

I purchased this notebook while EC was still sending a free On-The-Go 18 month calendar, so I got another one of them! I ordered a set of just the platinum head/book bands. I only wear them in my hair. They are AWESOME! I get compliments on them all of the time. As you can see, I got the British flag with this cover. Let’s all be surprised, the girl who is an English Lit concentration and LOVES English history got that particular cover. HAHA. To see what the notebook and calendar look like inside, check out my previous post The Notebook Has Arrived!

As with just about everything you order from EC, I got another set of stickers. 3 of them are repeats, but 3 of them specifically match my notebook!! I LOVE THEM! I have a whole collection of personalized stickers and I can’t wait to use them all of the time!

The Notebook Has Arrived

I LOVE Erin Condren packaging. It is so adorable. And so super exciting to receive when it comes!!! 😀

IMG_3989

IMG_3990

IMG_3991

Yes, I got ANOTHER pack of markers. They are the best and I plan on passing them out to my fellow teachers once school starts next week. THAT’S how much I like them.

IMG_4004 IMG_4006

The notebooks come with a little ruler. Yes, my notebook and teacher planner match. The planner is the larger of the two. It also comes with a clear, plastic, zipper pouch, blank stickers and folder just like the planners which is really nice I think. It also comes with more of the personalized gift stickers. I now have a set of “Miss. Swenda” and “Anna Swenda” stickers.

IMG_3992

The notebook itself is pretty swell. The majority is lined pages with blank pages for free doodling/writing in the back.IMG_3995

IMG_3996

I was also able to get my notebook in time to receive the free 18 month calendar. This, I passed on to my mom. It is sleek enough for her to throw it in any of her purses. She is passed the point of motherhood where she needs the FULL life planner. She’s quite thankful for this. I also let her steal a few of my extra stickers to decorate the outside.

IMG_3998 IMG_3999

Just like regular planners, there is a pretty display for the month and a page for notes. Unlike the regular planners, in the bottom right corner, there is a full month display with the dates. When you turn the page, there is a full, two-page, month spread with a column for notes. The top has a cute little saying, as with all of her other planners.

IMG_4001 IMG_4002 IMG_4003

My second notebook and pack of headbands will be coming shortly! I think it’s safe to say I have a problem. 🙂

EC Notebooks

I have a serious problem. My first EC On-The-Go Notebook isn’t even here yet and I’m already ordering a second one! This time, I’m making it more personal. Thus far, my teacher planner and notebook match. This one, I’m getting just for me. It has a lot of meaning to me for a number of reasons now.

p18t5pa6os1rm71t6i12s6j09taf1i

Between having an English Lit concentration and having just gotten back from Northern Ireland I can not wait to get this pretty new notebook! I am also getting a set of bands.

p18t2vqsdp10n9ta3rq39bm2ls4

They were perfect in my hair all week whether I was playing rugby, hockey, football or dancing around at vacation Bible school. Since I already have a pack each of the color sets, I wanted another pack of just the silver because the silver one is my favorite of my bunch!

EC still has the On-The-Go 18 month promotion running so I am getting ANOTHER one of those too! 😀 Now to decide who to share it with!

This is what I got!

p18t0nv7h2d4n1o0616nef04j0n1d

Instead of my name, I got “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” with William Shakespeare underneath. I also made my accent color Baby Blue, just like my planner.

This SEEMS like your average notebook, but it’s not! The cover is interchangeable (AWESOME). It comes with lots of goodies too!

130 lined pages and 20 blank “doodle” pages. If you’re not counting, thats 150 full sized pages! There is also a “keep it together” folder just like in the teacher planner. Also like the teacher planner, there is a zip lock pocket that includes 12 gift labels (6 of which are PERSONALIZED and designed to match your cover) for gift giving on the go, “let’s get together” cards and 120 repositionable colorful stickers. MORE STICKERS!

I got the regular shipping, 8-12 business days because I don’t NEED this stuff, but it will still be here in time for school to start. I got a third pack of the markers to give to one of my other teacher friends. They are seriously THE BOMB! I can’t wait for my new goodies to come in AND for school to start to really get to use off of this! 😀

And So It Begins

Tonight, I sat down with my measly little washi tape collection and began filling in some of my planner! 😀 Before I begin, I would like to say that I am a SENIOR and have one last round of field experience before I enter into the world of student teaching. I am using the month view to keep track of my every-day stuff. Classes, office hours, work, nannying, work outs, payments, pay days etc are all visible on my month view. Once I get into student teaching I won’t have as much personal stuff in the monthly view because I won’t have classes!

IMG_3101

I am awaiting my school’s website to update so that I can put in my personal assignments. THAT will be the biggest task when they come through. I went through and started finding birthdays, end of quarters, college breaks, special dates, wedding countdown, and high school dates. Keeping track of high school in-service days, and “holidays” as well as my own breaks is interesting. Thanksgiving is the only break that actually kind of lines up with the high school I am doing my field experience and student teaching at.

IMG_0610

August is a bit more on the sparse side being that school hasn’t started for ANYBODY yet. The best part of August is pre-planning my tomato sauce making day with my new mason jar washi tape! It’s so stinking cute and absolutely PERFECT! I like to plan my sauce days as far in advance as I can because sauce making day takes ALL DAY LONG. Especially this year with double the number of plants we had last year! This also helps me remember WHEN I made the different batches. They’ll last for a few years in the jars but I just like to keep track of when and how much I make. 🙂 I am also using my library stickers to help me remember when my library books are due, not just when I will be in the library with my high school students.

IMG_3100

I am using my washi tape in the month view to block out my schedule. Monday and Friday I am nannying so they get the fun colored strip. The pink zigzag denotes when I will be at the high school for field experience. I LOVE my cooperating teacher. She is the kind of teacher that when I jokingly said I would teach the Romeo and Juliet unit to the freshmen said “Ok. If you want to do it sure. I’ll just fill in on days when you’re not here.” I taught a whole unit in my first field experience. Basically, SHE’S AWESOME! Highlight of my week for sure! The yellow tape denotes my classes. Thankfully I only have those Tuesdays and Thursdays this semester. The blue is for my work out time after classes. EW. I am super excited to rock my EC bands to workout in though! I left space in-between to write in my office hours. I am a professors assistant at school. The man is a genius and teaches Theology, Philosophy, Fine Arts and a few other classes that make my brain hurt. I left space to the right of my tape for any extra notes or things that pop up. I am also taking online classes this semester. The blue stripes on Monday and Wednesday are dedicated online class time and homework time. Saturday and Sunday are empty so I can write in my work schedule for my retail job. Yay….

IMG_3104

IMG_3105 IMG_3106

One of my super friends picked me up a few packs of Sharpies last week when they had the “glitch” for the packs at $1.50. She ended up getting them for $1.05 because she had some extra coupon. In the meantime my mommy let me borrow her stash to write on my tape. They just show up a bit more vibrant and better than the EC markers. I still love them for regular writing in the planner and am stoked to use them for grading! The stickers are also definitely removable and adjustable. THANK GOODNESS!

It’s not a stupendous as some other EC planners out there, but baby steps right!?

For more info on my planner check out The Package. To get your own planner and get $10 off use this referral URL.

The Package

Everyone LOVES getting mail. Who doesn’t? It’s even more spectacular when it’s a WHOLE BOX OF GOODIES! Really, how much more exciting could that be? I must say, I watched the FedEx tracker like my Springer/Beagle on the scent of a bunny in our backyard. I texted my mother from work this afternoon about every hour asking her if it had arrived yet. And finally, it happened. I got the text. “Your package arrived.” And what was in this glorious little package I had been waiting for so impatiently!? My new Erin Condren Teacher Planner.

IMG_2996.JPG IMG_2997.JPG

It arrived in a pretty box, and was wrapped so gingerly in bubble wrap and matching purple tissue paper. Pealing away the paper revealed my pack of goodies!

IMG_2998.JPG

My markers, head/planner bands and thank you stickers were right on top! Though I love these, the real treasure was underneath.

IMG_2999.JPG  IMG_3002.JPG

This is my cover and inside flap. I won a gift card and had the extra few bucks to add that little personal detail. Picture by the wonderful Kimberly Kunda. She is Eric’s cousin so we’re slightly biased. ANYWHO! The covers a super thick and sturdy. I have no doubt that they will last dragging it around to college, high school, my house and Eric’s over the coming year.

IMG_3003.JPG  IMG_3023

Here are some better pictures of my add on goodies. I was able to get 2 packs, one for me and one for my cooperating teacher. They are bright, fine tipped and don’t bleed. PERFECT for grading! The planner/head bands are AWESOME! They will be great to wear running around and working out!

Now for the nitty-gritty!

The planner opens with a page for personal information, classroom info, Holidays & Dates to Remember, Birthday Pages to keep track of student Birthdays, pages to keep track of absences and missed work, and graph paper.

IMG_3035IMG_3034

There is a year at a glance section where you can write things in like breaks, quarter endings, conferences, testing etc.

IMG_3031 IMG_3032 IMG_3033

IMG_2602

Each month has a pretty cover, month over-view, and note pages. The month overviews have circles for you to manually enter the date. Kind of a pain in the butt, but I understand the purpose of it. There is also a nice quote that is relative to teaching at the top of each month over-view.

IMG_3029

IMG_3030

After the monthly views, there are the lesson plan sheets! There is room for 7 classes and the 5 days of the week. I know that I am not teaching 7 solid classes, and actually will be teaching the same lesson multiple times in most cases. I am using at least 2 columns for my own personal classes. Thank goodness I am ALMOST DONE with school myself!

IMG_3028

There is the equivalent of an old-school grade-book. Being that I’ll just be student teaching, this will be more than enough room for what I’d be using it for. You do have the option to have extra of these pages added when buying. As a future high school teacher, we don’t have quite as many grades as, say an elementary school teacher.

IMG_3024 IMG_3025 IMG_3026 IMG_3027

The planner came with 4 sticker pages. The stickers read as follows: Reminder, Progress reports due, Benchmark, Testing, Computer Lab, Conferences, Library, First Day, Last Day, Emergency Drill, Field Trip, Observation, Assembly @_____, IEP, Duty, Staff Meeting @_____, furlough, and Holiday. There are then 2 full pages of blank stickers to fulfill any other sticker needs you may require. Below, you can see the stickers that I created separately.

IMG_3022IMG_3001.JPG

After the sticker pages is a 2 sided folder. Tucked in this folder was my personalized stickers. My stickers read as follows: Test, Quiz, Payments, Spirit Week, Finals Week, Observation, Movie and First Day HS. Because I am still in school, I will have additional observations throughout my last field experience and student teaching. Both the high school and college have spirit weeks. OBVIOUSLY these are extremely important. Dressing up for 80s day is a MUST!

After the folder there is 3 awesome things. The first is a heavy duty, clear sheet protector. Perfect place for important school and emergency phone numbers/phone lists. The next awesome thing is a clear zip pouch. This hold paperclips, pens, stickers, what ever floats your boat. It is not removable so I would be careful keeping pens/pencils so as to not have bumps writing in the planner. Inside the pouch there were personalized stickers with my name on them already with blank To: and From: stickers. The third awesome thing is a 2 year calendar over-view. Awesome because you have to manually enter the dates in the month over-views, and also just nice to be able to look at it all laid out.

IMG_3021  IMG_3020

There were 2 unexpected surprises with this purchase. The first was a $10 EC GC as a Thank You/Welcome gift! The second was a sample pack of gift stickers that say “Enjoy-Anna, Just a little something from Anna.” There are a few variations and they come in multiple Erin Condren patterns. As per all of the planners, teacher or life, it came with a ruler that is great as a place holder for what page you are on/using.

I have already started entering some little things into my planner. Stay tuned for more decorating and organizing as I begin to use the planner in earnest and begin both my last year of college and continue my trek to becoming a high school English teacher! I am obsessed with this line and all of Erin Condren’s great products. By using this link, you can get $10 off of your own EC Planner! I’m sure you will see more posts on new goodies coming to me in the near future as well!
