Oops I Did it Again

I hope you thoroughly appreciate that awesome early 2000s flashback to Brittany Spears. I may have known the whole choreography to that song at one point in my life….anyways….

I got more Pura Vida Bracelets. I can’t even help myself. They’re so cool. I love the two that I got so much that I had to get….4 more…and I have many more sitting on my wish list.

As with my previous purchase, I bought all of my bracelets from the Charity section. A portion of the price goes to the corresponding organization/research. There are so many options and categories and organizations to support, it is easy to just buy from that section.

The first one is the Cystic Fibrosis Awareness. One of the munchkins that I babysit was born with the disease and is a superhero. She has been blessed in her almost 12 years of life with very few flare ups and relatively good health.

The second one I purchased is the Thyroid Disease Awareness. There are a number of people in my family that have struggled with thyroid issues, as well as so many of our friends. It affects so many people and yet it is so rarely talked about.

I also purchased the Prostate Cancer Awareness bracelet. Again, I have had a number of people in my life diagnosed with cancer, specifically prostate cancer. The amazing professor that I worked for at school for 3 years was diagnosed fall of 2013. After treatments and surgery he is cancer free and in good health.

Last but not least, I purchased the U.S. Army bracelet to go along with my Forgotten Warriors. As the daughter of an Army vet, this bracelet was an obvious no-brainer.

I love these just as much as my first ones. My arm is slowly but surly looking more and more like a rainbow. They are conversation pieces, and getting to tell people the story behind each one makes them that much more special.

If you would like to begin building your own bracelet collection, use the link HERE to get 50% off of $20 or more. You get 4 bracelets for the price of 2 and it is FREE shipping! What do you support? If you purchase any charity bracelets, show me on Instagram using the hashtag #BWBPVCharity

Pura Vida Bracelets

I had heard of this company last year some time. I finally decided to take the plunge and order some. I already wear Alex and Ani bangles, and have a friendship bracelet from Guatemala that a friend gave to me. I totally want to be one of those cool girls with half an arm of different bangles and bracelets. I am slowly working towards that goal. I knew that if I was going to justify spending the money on these guys they had to mean something.

Pura Vida helps by providing jobs in Costa Rica, thus helping their families and the economy. YAY! That’s reason #1 why they’re pretty cool.

Along with lots of “fun” sets and bracelets, they also have a TON of charity bracelets. A portion of those proceeds go toward different charities and organizations. Want to help save dolphins? There’s a bracelet for that. Want to support Premature Baby Awareness?

“In 2013 we were able to donate over $140,000 to 190+ charity organizations and we’ve only grown since then.”-Pura Vida

They have braided, mens, sets, beaded, charity, anklets, ones with charms– they seriously have a HUGE variety. There’s a bracelet for it! Seriously, you can go through by category, it’s pretty sweet.

For my first purchase, my mother and I each got a Breast Cancer Awareness and Forgotten Warriors bracelets. We also ordered a few extra Breast Cancer Awareness ones to share with friends in honor of our friend Shelly. You can read her story here. I am the daughter of an Army veteran, with many other friends and family that have served and are currently serving around the US and the world. These two causes are very near and dear to my heart. I certainly have a whole list of other bracelets to add to my collection.

IMG_5546

Reason number 3 is that they are both adjustable and don’t stay wet on your arm. I love my Guatemala friendship bracelet, but it is made of regular “friendship bracelet string.” When I shower or it gets wet, it stays wet for a bit. Not forever, but enough that it kind of annoys me. It’s also not adjustable. The Pura Vida bracelets are adjustable AND they dry pretty quickly. I have very tiny wrists, so it’s nice that I can pull them comfortably and not have to worry about them falling off.

Shipping is FREE within the US, which is AWESOME! Nothing is worse than paying more for shipping than the actual item(s) you are getting. The bracelets are all very reasonably priced. They do also have sale bracelets. On top of all of that, they have super cute accessories like hair bands, beanies, water bottles, phone cases etc.

Our bracelets arrived last week in a super cute turquoise package. Each bracelet comes in its own little canvas draw string bag for safe keeping, gift giving, yadda yadda.

IMG_5545

I was able to have a text sent to my phone when the package was delivered, which was definitely pretty cool, and way easier than checking online every 30 minutes. The package also included two little Pura Vida stickers. I am still trying to figure out where they will go, but they’re adorable.

IMG_5553

It seems kind of silly, to be writing about something so simple. I mean, there are quite a number of bracelets that are under $10, $5 even! It’s not like I broke the bank getting these guys. I’ve only had them for a little over a week and have already gotten compliments and questions about them though! It is so neat to be able to tell people what the bracelets support as well as what the company supports. They have a great rewards/points/referral program as well! WOOP WOOP!

I can’t wait to continue building my own Pura Vida collection, and see my friends and family start, and continue building theirs! Use THIS LINK to get 50% off your purchase of $20 or more!

This Very Crafty Mama Stickers

By a twist of fate I follow Jessica, owner of Etsy shop ThisVeryCraftyMama on Instagram. I saw that she was running an AWESOME giveaway and decided “Why not? It’s worth a shot!” AND I WON! HOLY COW! 😀 This afternoon I practically RAN to the mailbox in hopes of having a package in the mail- and there it was, in all of its hot pink glory!

IMG_5167When I opened my pretty envelope, one of the nicest happy mails I have ever received slid out! There is something to be said for a person who takes such ginger, love and pride in her work!

IMG_5169

IMG_5170And on to the best part- THE STICKERS!

IMG_5171I know there are some girls out there that are OBSESSED with mermaids. I’ll give it to ya, I love The Little Mermaid. I do grow my hair out for years at a time in order to donate and sometimes kinda feel mermaid-ish. Not only are these mermaids so cute, but so are their sea friends! I can’t wait to use them this summer and plan beach and aquarium trips JUST so I can use them!

IMG_5172I am an Army brat, and come from a long line of service men. We celebrate all of the holidays associated with them. I also have a friend who is dating a man in the service now. I will be sharing these Army stickers.

IMG_5173These baking stickers are spot on for planning. They are the perfect size and don’t take up too much space in the squares. The colors are fun, but soft. They are a perfect addition to my collection.

IMG_5174Everybody loves a good page flag.Pictured are both the solid and patterned ones! The stickers are matte, and colorful without being too bright or so patterned that you can’t write on them. She knocked it out of the park on these guys.

IMG_5175Ok, so when I first saw these I laughed way too hard for way too long. These “Monthly Cycle Tracker” stickers couldn’t be better. Not much makes any aspect of this more tolerable, other than chocolate, but these might help a bit.

IMG_5176I know Valentines Day has passed, but hearts are really all year round. How could I pass up those heart-sleeved coffee cups, or those owls, or instagram stickers!? Nothing is wrong with back stock either…

IMG_5177A roll of washi tape, some more stickers, star sticky notes, mini clothes pins, and small envelopes rounded out my killer giveaway package!

Station Stickers Planner Decor

Now that I am not working at a location with a Starbucks right next door, I do believe I have replaced my Starbucks spending with planner goodies spending. These stickers and washi are from Christy Dee, owner of Etsy shop, Station Stickers. She is also on Instagram @stationstickers, where she posts shop news, new additions and even what she buys from other shops!

These tea-cup stickers are adorable! I am going to use some of them to denote special wedding planning time with my best friend Faith. Others I am going to use to schedule in tea time with friends at school. I might be a college student, and yes I love coffee, but just about anything can be helped with a good cuppa.

IMG_4825

TV stickers are so fun. I love the colors. I have so many shows to keep track of, or minimally, I need to schedule time to catch up on my shows on DVR and OnDemand! I have a tendency to turn a show on and do my school work with it going in the back ground. Yeah, I’m one of those people. I can’t wait to use these guys!

IMG_4826

I am slowly but surly building my washi collection. Though my full rolls are great, I don’t necessarily need full rolls. This set of washi is fun, fresh, and classic. Who doesn’t like some good old classic gingham!? I will probably use most of these later in the spring to the early summer, but I couldn’t wait to get them. There are two sheets of each pattern, 7 pre-cut pieces on each, giving me a total of 70 pre-cut washis!

IMG_4824

The pill stickers are for my mother and me. I take fish oil, iron, and cranberry pills in the mornings. My mother suffers from migraines and takes preventative medication as well as medicine when she actually has one. She is going to use hers to denote when she actually has a migraine and takes her super meds!

IMG_4827

Being the AWESOME lady that she is, Christy also threw in two little goodies for me! The coffee cups are my favorite color and so stinking cute! I can’t wait to use them. I am in LOVE with the heart check-list and will need to get MORE!

IMG_4828

On top of this wonderful package, Christy has come up with a discount code for all of my readers/followers to use at her shop! WOO HOO! Bridge Street Chocolates-New Treats

I fell in love with chocolate at an early age. I fell in love with Bridge Street Chocolates just a few short years ago. It is a beautiful love affair. I am constantly telling people about it, this tiny little shop in downtown Phoenixville, PA. I wrote an article on Gail, the owner, last Spring for a school assignment. That can be found here at “Ministry of Chocolate.

I was downtown meeting a friend for lunch and found out she had NEVER been there! WHAT!? NO WAY!? So in we trekked. Gail is usually off Mondays and Tuesdays and happened to have stopped in to grab some work to take home. Being that she is one of my favorite people, of course it was a treat alone to see her! As I introduced my friend to my favorite little chocolate friends, I came across a new addition to the case- French Chocolate Macaroons. Wait, let me say that again. French. Chocolate. Macaroons. If you thought it couldn’t get better than that, oh, it does.

Smooshed in between two perfect chocolate macaroons is a chocolate, espresso filling. I am usually a sucker for the truffles. I get some combination of them every time I go in. Except that day. After eating one, I knew that that was what I was getting that day. 3 more French Chocolate Macaroons were put in my favorite little box. I ate two and brought one home for my mommy. I, mean, chocolate is only as good as the company you share it with right?

IMG_2994

I couldn’t help myself though. I had to get another honey stirrer. The lavender is my absolute favorite of them!

Ministry of Chocolate- Bridge Street Chocolates and Gail Warner

It was a blustery cold day in Phoenixville as I knocked on the glass door. Gail’s kind smiling face welcomed me into the shop. Warmth and the undeniable smell of chocolate immediately enveloped me. I don’t think anyone could help but smile walking into a shop that smelled and looked so delicious! I had gone before business hours to have time to talk uninterrupted. I thought I was going to learn about running a chocolate store, but learned more about the person behind the store than I ever thought possible.

Gail Warner is a New Jersey native that started college in New England and then transferred to Eastern College as a social work major. When her father passed away at the age of 48, 18 year old Gail left school after three years. During her brief absence she toyed with the idea of opening a “Bridge Street Chocolates” in Lambertville, NJ but the inexperienced Gail realized her dream was unrealistic. She returned to school, but found herself at Eastern University. There she was a business major and was part of a traveling music ministry called Malachi. After graduating she became a successful business woman for the next 20 years of her life. At 47 ½ she looked in the mirror and asked the question “If I died in 6 months at the same age as my father would I be happy with my life?” “The answer was so easy and clear,” she told me, “no.” It was here that the idea of opening Bridge Street Chocolates came back to the surface.

With 20 years of business experience under her belt, Gail left her great job in the business world to open her own chocolate shop. “This shop has tested my faith in many different areas but God has always been faithful.” She took courses in chocolate making, grabbed her dream and ran with it. When looking for a location a friend mentioned Bridge Street in Phoenixville. After some searching, she found the perfect location at 158 Bridge Street in down town Phoenixville. Warner decided to do chocolate over rather than cupcakes or cookies for a number of reasons. Chocolate doesn’t require big ovens or mixers which means it can be done in a smaller space. Chocolate- good, well made, luxurious chocolate stores are few and far between. The last reason she chose chocolate- who doesn’t LOVE chocolate!? “Chocolate makes people happy. It’s a little luxury that can brighten a day. It’s good.” On December 15, 2010 Gail Warner finally opened the doors to her lifelong dream.

Since then the chocolate store has become a favorite for the town as well as students on campus. Chocolate covered pretzels and bacon are always a favorite along with sea salt caramels. However her best sellers are the decadent truffles. Crème Brule, champagne, coconut, tiramisu, hazelnut, coffee and sea salt caramel are just a few of the wonderful flavors she keeps on hand. During the summer months her fruity artisan truffles head towards the top of her best sellers list. Gail’s personal favorites? “It depends on the day. Some days I want a pretzel, some days it’s the coconut truffle, or caramel pecan. Sometimes just a simple chocolate square hits the spot and I think ‘Wow, this is good.’”

Gail Warner came into the Phoenixville community three years ago and has taken our local chocolate world by storm. She has done wonderful things for students on campus like discounts during finals week and even giving out a free piece or two on Community Cleanup Day for the crews around down town. Though she loves working with chocolate she loves working with people more. “One day a woman will come in celebrating that she just found out she was pregnant. Months later she’ll come in with a stroller, and a bit later she will come in with a little one toddling after her. Chocolate is for anyone any day. Some people come in after a stressful day and I’m the one they talk to. Some come in to celebrate, others just because. It is my job to make them feel welcome; to feel cared for and worth my time and energy.” Gail Warner sells mouthwatering chocolate, has some of the best customer service around and has a phenomenal testimony of faith. By combining these ingredients she has truly made Bridge Street Chocolates her ministry.
